Information About School Delays/Closures

With the arrival of winter weather, we would like to remind parents/families about our district policy. If school is delayed or closed, the information is posted by 6:00 AM on:

  • District Website
  • Automated calling system
  • Regional media outlets (newspaper online, radio, Portland & Tri-Cities tv stations)

If no notice is posted, school is running on regular schedule.

The location with the most accurate information to confirm a delay/closure is on the district website. On occasion, media inaccurately reports school delay/closure information. In the event that schools must close early, notification is given using the same method.

If you have questions about the delay/closure policy, please call the District Office or your child’s school. Thank you.

Bus Policy

A friendly reminder that the La Grande bus is for Cove students which reside in La Grande.  On occasion, a Cove resident student may be granted approval to ride the La Grande bus.  Requests to do so must be pre-arranged through the office and be approved by an administrator.
