Results from today's Junior High Speech Meet are impressive! Our little Eastern Oregon school gave the Portland Metropolitan area schools all they could handle with several students making the award podium led by a tournament championship by Esther Elmer in Prose. Esther also finished 3rd in Impromptu Speaking while teammates Emma Carson and Gracie Tucker were 2nd and 5th respectively. Gracie was also the runner-up in Editorial Commentary while Emma also finished 5th in Oratory. Rounding out our podium appearances was Dallas Miller-Olmsted with a third place finish in Poetry. On the Debate side of the meet, our teams did not win enough debates to make the finals - but they appear to be great talkers with Taylor Weishaar and Dallas Miller-Olmsted tying for 5th place in overall speaker points. Nine of our 14 entries made the podium - the future of Cove High School Speech is looking promising!
