The Cove High School volleyball team will be in action this week in Wallowa on Tuesday and in Enterprise on Friday. Please remember that Wallowa County schools are not allowing visiting fans at this time. Please do not drive to Wallowa County expecting to see a volleyball game. Games in Union County will require a ticket for admission. The Leopards will play at home next Friday, March 12th, starting at 12:30 against Imbler.
Football is coming -- we get to have a padded full-contact football season at the high school level!
Gear checkout will be on Wednesday, the 24th and practice starting Monday, March 1st. A 3-5 game schedule is being developed and will be released soon.
I encourage all who have considered playing football to take advantage of this short season!
BRRRRRR!
The weather got cold and many of us did not have our winter clothes. Try to remember warm clothes because we have recess outside everyday rain or shine. If your child needs a coat, hat, gloves or boots let their classroom teacher know. We have clothes to keep them warm head to toe!

Happy Valentines Day from kindergarten!
Week 24 of in-person school is all but over! Our week started with reopening the playground from 7:30-7:50 am for our students to be able to play before school starts. The kids were buzzing with excitement at getting one more thing back to normal. It's a good day to be a Leopard!
Please remember to use the student pick up and drop off area (located on Haefer Lane just past the Elementary School building) before and after school. For safety reasons, elementary students wait for parents/guardians or older siblings in the pick up area and are not to walk to the High School. Thank you for helping us keep our students safe.
Cove students had a blast learning to ski and snowboard up at Anthony Lakes!
January is all but over, and we have completed our 22nd week of in-person school. Time flies when you're having fun! Thanks to our community's efforts and support of our health and safety protocols, our students and staff members have been able to stay in school. Keep up the great work. It's a great day to be a leopard!

I am having a good time teaching the seventh graders science this semester. I wanted to take some time to share a few of the videos that were created to describe the cell cycle. Video is not very easy, but the students worked hard to create some stop motion that might help others learn as well. Check out the links below.

Parents: Please remember that the school doors do not open in the mornings until 7:30. Students who arrive before 7:30 have to stand out in the cold until then. The cafeteria doors open at 7:20, so that students have time to eat breakfast before school.

Kindergarteners colored their hand and arm to look the way they feel about themselves on the inside. Martin Luther King Jr said, “I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” Happy MLK Jr. Day on Monday! No school! See you Tuesday!
