The Cove High School Football Field was used this morning as a landing area for a Life Flight Situation. This was not related to the school district in any way. A huge thank you to Cove First Response, Cove Fire Department, La Grande Fire Department and Sheriff Tony Humphries for their support with this situation.
Just received word that there will be paving on French Street tomorrow, 8/23. One-lane traffic expected. Use caution and allow extra time if you travel to/from the Mill Creek side of town.

We are getting many students/parents asking for changes to their HS class schedules. Please know that we are working hard to get HS class schedules finalized by the middle of this week. Course Change Requests can be made beginning the first day of school, Aug. 22, and will be available until the end of the first week of school, Aug. 25.
Cove Elementary Grades K-8 - Back To School Open House, Thursday, August 18, 6-7:30 PM. Come meet your child's teachers and see what's new for the 22-23 School Year.
We are excited to announce that a Beginning Technology course will be offered to High School students this year! Mr. Theo Asberry, our District Technology Director will be teaching this year-long course during 4th Period. It will count toward graduation as an Elective Credit. If any 9-12 grade students are interested in taking this course, please contact Karen Moore (District Registrar) directly at: karen.moore@covesd.org to get signed up. Course change requests can be made until the end of the first week of school (Aug. 25, 2022).

Middle School Volleyball open gyms will be Aug. 9, 10, 11 from 3-4:30pm
Practices will be Monday 8/15, Tues. 8/16, Weds. 8/17 from 2:30-4:00.

High School Volleyball players: First day of practice is on August 15th. We will practice from 4:30 - 6:00 pm and 6:30 - 8:00 pm Monday through Friday that week.
High School Football:
First practice is Monday the 15th of August.
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday will have two practices, the first 7am, the second 6pm. Tuesday and Thursday will have just one practice at 6pm.
We are excited to get to work!
Middle school football practice (grades 6, 7, and 8) will start at 8:00 a.m. on Monday August 15. Take advantage of the free sports physical at Cove school on Wednesday, August 3, at 6:00 p.m..
Before summer break I got a good start on High School class schedules. Now that our computer system has rolled over to the 2022/2023 school year, these schedules can be viewed on ParentVue/StudentVue. Please know that these schedules have not been completed or finalized. On August 8th I will be back to work and will finish scheduling all High School students into their classes. COVE ATHLETES
Cove Athletic Department will be hosting a FREE sports physical exam on Wednesday, August 3rd at 6pm in the High school. This is a requirement for all athletes every 2 years if you are wanting to participate in sports. The athletic department requests all 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 11th grades and any new athletes to participate in this exam. A sports physical is required before you can participate per OSAA. See you all August 3rd.

Cove FFA has been hard at work on a few projects!! Students removed sod to begin clearing space for the new transportation site and were able to reuse the material to improve areas in the elementary playground/field.
